The printed circuit board (PCB) industry in Thailand is experiencing significant growth, with Mektec Manufacturing Corporation leading the way with a recent investment of 920 million baht. PCBs are crucial components in various electronic products, from electric vehicles to smart appliances and medical equipment.
Thailand has emerged as a key investment destination for PCB manufacturing in Asia, attracting new investors and encouraging existing ones to expand their operations. Mektec Manufacturing Corporation, a subsidiary of Japan’s NOK Corporation, specializes in flexible PCBs (FPCBs) used in advanced products like smart contact lenses and EV batteries.
With the increasing demand for FPCBs driven by technological advancements such as 5G, IoT devices, and AI robots, the PCB sector in Thailand is expected to continue growing. Mektec is committed to investing in its operations to become a smart factory and support the global electronics industry.
The company’s factory in Ayutthaya employs 3,000 workers and sources raw materials locally, contributing significantly to the local economy. The investment in expanding FPCB production will cater to the rising demand in the EV industry, showcasing the potential for further growth in Thailand’s PCB sector.
