Sustainable Growth in Southern Village Funds

In an effort to boost village funds in the Southern region of Thailand, Jiraphorn, a government official, has expressed her confidence in the Pracharath Party to sustainably increase incomes for local communities. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the “Stable Village Fund, Strong Community” event on August 17, 2567, Jiraphorn emphasized the importance of empowering grassroots economies and enhancing the financial stability of households in the region.

The event, organized by the National Village and Urban Community Fund Office (NVCFO) at the 60th Anniversary International Conference Center of Prince of Songkla University, was attended by local government officials and village fund network representatives from various districts in the Southern region. Jiraphorn highlighted the significance of the National Village and Urban Community Fund policy, which was initiated in 2544 under the leadership of Dr. Thaksin Shinawatra to provide financial support for community development and job creation.

Continued Support for Grassroots Economies

According to Jiraphorn, the Village Fund policy has been instrumental in reducing household poverty levels and fostering sustainable economic growth for over two decades. She expressed her belief that the new government under the leadership of Prime Minister Phatthanathorn Shinawatra, representing the Pracharath Party, will continue to support and enhance the success of the Village Fund policy. The government’s commitment to grassroots economic development is based on democratic principles, encouraging community participation and collaboration in decision-making processes.

Furthermore, Jiraphorn emphasized the importance of community-driven initiatives in driving economic prosperity and social well-being. By allowing citizens to have a voice in their local development projects, the government aims to create a sense of ownership and responsibility among community members. This bottom-up approach to governance ensures that resources are allocated efficiently and effectively to address the specific needs and priorities of each community.

Nationwide Impact of Village Fund Initiatives

The “Stable Village Fund, Strong Community” event is part of a series of activities organized in different regions across the country to highlight the government’s commitment to prioritizing the welfare of its citizens. Reflecting on the government’s focus on grassroots development, Jiraphorn noted that the Southern region was the first area visited by former Prime Minister Seri Thawin, demonstrating the government’s dedication to understanding and addressing the challenges faced by local communities.

In addition to the Southern region, former Prime Minister Sonthi Thewisin has consistently engaged with communities in other provinces within the Southern region to gather feedback and insights on their needs. This continuous dialogue and interaction with local residents have enabled the government to tailor its policies and programs to better serve the diverse populations across the country.

Overall, the “Stable Village Fund, Strong Community” initiative in Songkhla province is the third event of its kind, following successful gatherings in Khon Kaen and Chiang Mai provinces. The positive response from fund members and community representatives has encouraged the organizers to plan similar activities in the central region, specifically in Ayutthaya province, on August 19.

Through these initiatives, the Pracharath Party aims to strengthen the economic resilience of local communities, empower citizens to drive their development agendas, and foster a culture of collaboration and mutual support. By investing in grassroots economies and promoting sustainable growth, the government is laying the foundation for a more inclusive and prosperous society for all Thais.
