Centralized Pick-Up and Drop-Off Points for Passengers at Nong Khai Bus Terminal

The Nong Khai Bus Terminal has recently implemented centralized pick-up and drop-off points for passengers in response to the flooding that has affected the area. Due to the overflow of water from the Mekong River, the bus terminal and bus station in Nong Khai were inundated, making it impossible for buses to access the terminal. As a temporary solution, passengers traveling on the Bangkok-Nong Khai route are now being picked up and dropped off at the Otto Plaza in Nong Khai.

Continued Cross-Border Bus Services

Despite the challenges posed by the flooding, cross-border bus services between Nong Khai and Vientiane, the capital of Laos, continue to operate as usual. To ensure the convenience and comfort of passengers, pick-up and drop-off points have been designated at the Otto Plaza in Nong Khai on a temporary basis. This decision comes after the temporary suspension of bus services between Nong Khai and Vientiane due to the ongoing flood situation.

Relief Efforts and Community Support

In light of the flooding in Nong Khai, the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has mobilized its staff to provide assistance to the affected communities. As part of the “SRT Cares: Helping Flood Victims in the Northeast” initiative, the SRT has prepared 300 relief kits containing essential items such as dry food, canned fish, pickled vegetables, instant noodles, and toilet paper. Additionally, 350 packs of drinking water have been distributed to residents in the flood-affected areas of Nong Khai.

Mr. Orathavit Rakchamruan, Acting Chairman of the SRT, emphasized the importance of community support during times of crisis. He stated that the SRT is committed to aiding those in need and will continue to provide assistance to flood victims in Nong Khai. The relief kits distributed by the SRT are aimed at meeting the basic needs of the affected residents and helping them cope with the challenges brought about by the flooding.

The SRT’s relief efforts have received positive feedback from the local community, with residents expressing their gratitude for the assistance provided. Many individuals have commended the SRT for its swift response to the flooding and for prioritizing the well-being of the affected residents. The distribution of relief kits and drinking water has been instrumental in alleviating the hardships faced by the flood victims in Nong Khai.

In addition to the relief efforts, the SRT has also collaborated with local authorities and organizations to coordinate rescue and evacuation operations in the flood-affected areas. The joint efforts of the SRT and other stakeholders have helped mitigate the impact of the flooding and ensure the safety of residents in Nong Khai.

As the floodwaters recede and the situation in Nong Khai gradually returns to normal, the SRT remains committed to supporting the recovery and rebuilding efforts in the affected communities. By providing essential supplies and assistance to those in need, the SRT aims to help residents of Nong Khai overcome the challenges posed by the recent flooding and restore normalcy to the region.
