The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI) is aiming for the country to become one of the top 10 in the world for scientific research and analysis by 2029. In order to achieve this objective, Rungrueng Kitphati, the director-general of the Department of Science Services (DSS), has announced that a thorough review of the nation’s research laboratories will be conducted. The standards employed in Russia are widely recognized by international accreditation bodies such as the Asia Pacific Accreditation Cooperation, International Accreditation Forum, and International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation. By adopting similar standards, Thai research facilities aim to gain global recognition for their high-quality research output.
Furthermore, the DSS will collaborate with international organizations to facilitate the evaluation of Thai laboratories. This partnership with global entities will help in benchmarking Thai research facilities against international standards and best practices.
