A tragic incident unfolded on Mother’s Day in Thailand, resulting in the deaths of a police officer and her two daughters in Chon Buri. The suspected cause of their deaths is sodium hydroxide, a common cleaning agent found in bathrooms. The discovery was made by a friend of one of the daughters, who found the three women in critical condition in the bathroom.

The friend, identified as Khaofang, stayed overnight with the family and left in the morning for her business. Upon returning to the house, she found the women in distress in the bathroom. The police report indicated that the victims had foam around their mouths and darkened nails and lips. Despite efforts from rescuers, their lives could not be saved.

The strong smell of sodium hydroxide in the bathroom led authorities to suspect that the chemical was involved in the deaths. Two police officers who investigated the scene were also affected by the fumes. Khaofang informed the police that the policewoman had asked her to buy sodium hydroxide that morning to clear a clogged drain in the bathroom.

An acquaintance of the police officer stated that there were no signs of suicidal intentions from the victims. The officer was set to retire soon and was close to her daughters. The friend mentioned that there were no known personal issues or debts that could have led to such a tragedy. The autopsy results were awaited to confirm the cause of death.

The Deputy Commissioner of Provincial Police Region 2 initiated an investigation to determine whether the incident was accidental or possibly a murder. A bottle of sodium hydroxide was found in the house, and authorities were tracing its source. Initial findings indicated that the deceased had no conflicts with anyone. The bodies were sent for autopsy at Chon Buri Hospital.

The community was left shocked and saddened by the tragic loss of the policewoman and her daughters. The investigation into the incident continues as authorities work to uncover the circumstances surrounding their untimely deaths. The use of household chemicals, such as sodium hydroxide, serves as a reminder of the importance of handling such substances with caution and following safety guidelines to prevent accidents.
