A 10-year-old child has recently been saved by the police from a harrowing situation where they were sexually abused for almost a month offshore of Rayong province. The Thailand Internet Crimes Against Children (TICAC) took action after receiving information about the abuse, which involved violent pornographic videos of a minor being sold on the Telegram messaging app.
Thanks to a video that was filmed in October, authorities were able to track down the victim and rescue them from the fishing boat where the assaults took place. Shockingly, it was revealed that the suspect’s wife, who is related to the child, was involved in the abuse and even filmed the horrific acts.
Reports suggest that during the child’s time on the boat, they were assaulted by the suspect more than 10 times. Once safely back on land, the victim was provided with support from a local orphanage to report the crimes committed against them.
The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Setthawut, was apprehended on his boat with a mobile phone containing child pornography intended for distribution. He now faces charges for molesting a minor under the age of 13, and the authorities have gathered enough evidence to prosecute him for his heinous actions.
This rescue mission highlights the importance of law enforcement agencies like TICAC in combating crimes against children and protecting the most vulnerable members of society. It also sheds light on the disturbing reality of child abuse happening in unexpected places, such as on a fishing boat off the coast.
The bravery of the victim in coming forward and the swift action taken by the police to rescue them serve as a reminder that there are dedicated individuals working tirelessly to ensure that justice is served in cases of child exploitation. The case also underscores the need for continued vigilance and awareness to prevent such atrocities from occurring in the future.
