On August 13, at 10:00 am in Room 501, Government House, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha chaired the cabinet meeting. Before the meeting started, reporters asked if he had a good rest over the past weekend. The Prime Minister smiled and said, “Okay.” When asked if he would personally attend the court hearing on August 14, he denied it and delegated the task to the Secretary-General of the Prime Minister, Nipon Prompan.
Reporters inquired about the Prime Minister’s schedule for August 14, to which he replied that it was quite packed, but he couldn’t remember the exact details. He mentioned that his schedule was tight but he would continue to work as usual. When asked if he would be traveling for any official duties outside of Government House, he admitted that he couldn’t remember his schedule accurately.
During the same meeting, it was announced that Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak, who is also the Minister of Commerce, and Chatu Mongol Sonakul, Minister of Finance, had requested leave from the cabinet meeting.
In other news, a new Cabinet Secretary has been appointed. Nipon Prompan, who will represent the Prime Minister at the court hearing, has taken on the role.
