Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Narumon Pinyosinwat has addressed concerns regarding the alleged illegal use of Sor Por Kor agricultural reform land by a romantic partner associated with a former deputy prime minister. She emphasized that reclaimed Alro land is meant for redistribution to farmers, not for the development of resorts.
The allegations arose following claims by Thanadon Suwannarit, an adviser to the minister, regarding a resort encroaching on Alro land in Saraburi, possibly linked to a prominent political figure. Minister Narumon clarified that the ministry is committed to upholding policies aimed at combating land misuse, as established by the previous administration led by Capt Thamanat Prompow.
Despite speculation implicating a former deputy prime minister, rumored to be Gen Prawit Wongsuwon, Minister Narumon asserted that investigations will proceed impartially, with the law being applied equally to all individuals. Alro secretary-general Sedthakiat Krajangwongs confirmed that inquiries into the matter are actively underway, with Mr. Thanadon’s team conducting on-site inspections at Phu Nabdao Farm in Saraburi’s Muak Lek district.
