The Thai government is making big plans to bring a Formula 1 (F1) racing event to Thailand in order to give a boost to the economy. Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra mentioned in a recent post that negotiations are progressing well to make this happen. The goal is to use this mega event as a way to attract more tourists, create excitement, and even improve urban infrastructure.

The hope is that hosting an F1 race will not only bring in new income but also help in promoting Thailand as a top-tier travel destination on a global scale. To complement this initiative, the government is gearing up to launch a series of tourism promotion campaigns during the year-end season with the aim of increasing revenue by 7.5%.

One such campaign is the “72 Styles of Happiness to Experience,” which is being spearheaded by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports. This campaign will feature an e-book showcasing must-do activities along 72 highlighted routes in Thailand. Each route will offer a unique set of activities, including trying local dishes, engaging in adventurous activities, shopping for unique items, enjoying scenic views, and experiencing local lifestyles.

To further boost tourism interest, five influencers will be creating travel vlogs to share their experiences on different routes, with the goal of sustaining tourism momentum into the following year. Additionally, the Tourism Authority of Thailand is emphasizing the “Thai charm” and promoting must-visit cities across all five regions of the country.

The overall objective is to increase travel frequency throughout the year and encourage visitors to spend more in various provinces while ensuring that tourism remains sustainable. By highlighting the diverse attractions and unique experiences that Thailand has to offer, the government hopes to draw in more tourists and showcase the country’s rich cultural heritage.
