The Lyon police arrested the driver of a car registered in Switzerland on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, as he committed multiple traffic violations. The events started in Vénissieux and ended in the 2nd district of Lyon. On Wednesday, late in the morning, patrolling police officers were intrigued by the driving of a Ferrari registered in Switzerland circulating in the town of Vénissieux, according to police sources, confirming information from BFM. The driver was speeding.
Chased by the police
The driver, a 23-year-old young man, was then chased by the police in a pursuit during which he made dangerous maneuvers. In trying to evade the police, he caused an accident by hitting a vehicle during his escape. The police eventually lost track of the reckless driver, but thanks to a witness seeing the damaged Ferrari, the suspect was finally located in the Confluence shopping center in the 2nd district of Lyon. The reckless driver was hiding in a restaurant
The police finally apprehended the fugitive in a restaurant in the center where he had taken refuge. He was arrested and placed in custody. During his hearing, he denied committing the alleged offenses while driving without a license. The suspect is well known to the police. Another 20-year-old man later presented himself to the police to confess to hit-and-run but was cleared of any involvement. The main suspect will be brought before the Lyon prosecutor’s office on Friday, August 9 for an immediate appearance.
